Autumnfest Conference 2010 - Review

 

This is our third year since we decided to transition from a "Church Retreat" away somewhere, to an actual conference at the Church, and once again...we were glad we did it!

Terry and Pat Carlson shared with us along the theme, "Saying, 'Yes'"
This conference had a greater "intimate" flavor as we had several sessions that were predominately Q & A time with two seasoned leaders. I was impressed with the questions. Those sessions were like a Bible School in miniature, covering a variety of topics, and straight to the point of the "burning issues" within. Off course we did this in Irish style over food and tea/coffee. I admit, I am drawn to the casual approach where we fellowship and be who we are with one another. Terry and Pat just seem to fit right in!
We were encouraged and challenged. Terry shared the opening night on how mostly everyone wants "God's will" for their lives, but the problem comes with, "Do we want it God's way?" Each session taking us deeper into what it means to walk with God and obedience to His call on our lives. This was an important event as new leaders are being released in the Church, as well as those who are starting to catch a vision for new ministries that may eventual be birthed in other places.
Pat spent a session with our Children's workers training and encouraging them in creativity and effectively reaching kid's hearts. We are truly blessed to have people not just share but to invest into our Church. This was their sixth or seventh trip to us (we have lost track). They left us after a few days of time with our family after the conference for some ministry in Belgium, and returned to Michigan for a few weeks before taking a team to Israel.
With every conference, God seems to take us deeper as a Church with Himself and to a new level. I especially noticed how leaders in our Church had become attached to Terry and Pat personally and were not only sad to see them leave, but longed for personal time to hank out with them.
We look forward to their next trip over to us, as we consider adding a summer event to our conference schedule for 2011.

Autumnfest 2009 (Report)

What a conference! The messages brought by Pastors Terry and Pat
Carlson were powerful and direct. There is no doubt that God is
preparing His people for something great in these last days! We are
also more aware of the challenges that lie ahead for God's people.
There was a deep work in the hearts of many...

 

One girl in the church wanting to hear God for direction felt on
Friday to lay it all down. By the end of the weekend she got a call
for an interview for a ministry position working with troubled girls.
She still needs to pray about it, but God was quick to answer.

 

CHILDREN: The past few days have been full and exciting as we have
just completed a three day kids club. The theme for the confernce is
"The Call" and the kids were taught from the life of Jonah to follow
God's call on their lives.

Autumnfest 2008 (report)

 

OctoberConferenceSmallWe had a great conference this year

On the 28th of October we arrived to pick up the team of 9 at the airport. Pastors Terry & Pat Carlson, over for their 5th time since the Church started in 2004, brought a team this time with them, including their Senior Pastor from New Life Christian Church (Michigan), to minister at our first conference.

They had little rest as they started the next day to run a three day Kids Club and youth events. Numbers varied with the children from 12 to over 30. Most important was the ministry. The theme of the conference was "The Depths of God", but it quickly became apparent the the baptism of the Holy Spirit was going to be part of the ministry of every age group.

By Thursday night and Friday, several of the teenagers had recieved the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, as well as a number of the children.

Friday night the adult meetings started. Pastor Bob taught in a very powerful way about the hinderances that keep us from going deeper. Convinction worked into our hearts over the conference, and by Sunday morning, again there was prayer for many for the baptism of the Holy Spirit with those also recieving the gift of tongues.

So much happened, that we hardly expected all the ministry that would occur on the Sunday evening when Terry shared on God's grace in our lives. Several people also gave their hearts over to Jesus during the conference.

Everything went beyond our expectations!!!

Things would not have been complete without a bit of fun. On Saturday afternoon 19 people joined in playing paintball while some of the less violent met for tea while the kids played in a "play zone". Sunday after Church we had a meal together, everyone bringing something to share.

Our prayer is that God will continue to soften our hearts and the work done in us during the conference will continue in the days to come.
